Chinese Gardens, Darling Harbour

I visited the Chinese Gardens with my cousin Orlando, Uncle Oliver and Aunty Sam. We dressed up in traditional Chinese costumes and pretended we were emperors from a long time ago. I ran around the gardens doing kung fu.

Surfers Paradise

My Grandma and Grandad have come from England to visit me. We all went to the Gold Coast together. We caught a plane from Sydney which took about an hour. There was lots to see and do. We went to the beach, Warner Brothers' Movie World, and the Palazzo Verace (the hotel where people from 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!' stay). I took some pictures there when we were having afternoon tea.




Warner Brothers' MovieWorld is where they have a theme park and make movies. I went on the ScoobyDoo rollercoaster. Grandma and Grandad were too scared to go on!



We went on a glass bottom boat where we saw lots of fish and also fed some pelicans.




And when we weren't out and about, I was teaching Grandma and Grandad how to swim in the spa!

Glebe Street Fair

Today I went to a big street fair. They had pony rides around the park, farmyard animals that you could pet, candy floss (I had some of that), bands, rides (I went on the jumping castle and bungee again) and lots stuff you could buy.

I went to a stall where you get tattoos. I chose a batman tattoo which stays on your arm for 7 days, so I can show my friends at school.





I saw people from school like Oli and Jaya. I really wish that I could go in with the farm animals.

Fox Studios

Today I went to Fox Studios in Sydney, where they filmed the Superman movie. I did my first bungee jump there. I went on the jumping castle as well. My Uncle Peter and Cousin Lisa were also there to watch me.



Cousin Lisa took me on the merry-go-round, and we looked at the funny mirrors.

Driving to Brisbane

Here are some pictures from our driving holiday from Sydney to Brisbane.
This is the river that runs through Brisbane. Ferries go up and down and you can get on and off at different spots.

This is the ligthhouse at Byron Bay, the most easterly point of Australia.

This is a boat that the parents of my friend Sunday just bought. It is an old Sydney ferry and they are making it into a house boat which will live in Salamander Bay.

This is the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour where they have a big banana plantation. Here are pictures of me in front of a fake banana and a real banana tree.

Book character parade

At school, we had a book character parade. We had to dress up as our favourite character from a book. Guess who I went as?

Colouring-in competition

I won a colouring-in competition in my local area. This is me with my winning entry. They presented me with a PlayStation 2 as my prize. I was the only person in my school who got a prize.

Haircut

I got my haircut recently. This is before I had the haircut.

I asked the hairdresser to cut it short with a long bit at the back.


After a few days, I asked daddy to cut the long bit off at the back.

Piano concert

Recently, my piano class had a recital. We had to introduce the song we were going to play. We played a group piece call Wall Clock. Then I received a certificate afterwards and people clapped and took lots of pictures.

Face crayons

This is something new I tried. I've had my face painted before, but I had never used special face crayons. They were a prize at a friend's party. So I decided to try them out on myself. I found a mirror and went for it!

My new cousin

I have a new cousin, Orlando. This is me holding him. He is only one month old but he can already smile. Now he is the sixth great-grandchild in the family. I am the third oldest and he is the youngest!

Disney on Ice

I went to see Disney on Ice at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. It had the stories of lots of Disney movies except all the characters were on ice skates. They had the Incredibles, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Beauty & the Beast, Mulan, Aladdin: it was cool, in fact, it was cold!

My new bike

I have a new red pushbike with training wheels. We have added some accessories like a sports exhaust pipe which makes a VRROOM noise when you pedal! Thank you to Izidore who gave me the money to buy it. Lots of people at the park said it was cool.

Sydney Biennale

There's a big exhibition of art in Sydney every two years. We went to a gallery where they showed a video on a wall and I played around in front of the projector.

Visiting Mudgee

During the school holidays, we drove to a town called Mudgee where they make honey and wine. I saw bees making honey. We went to a place where they made wine and had a farmyard with guinea pigs. We stayed in a hotel and had a big breakfast the next morning. I ate more than my mum!

Old school days

We had a day at school where we had to come dressed up in clothes that people would wear to school a long time ago. So I wore a shirt and tie with waistcoat and jacket, pressed trousers and shiny shoes.

Handy helper

Mum and dad were doing some work around the house, so I thought I would help them by getting all my tools together and dressing up in my builder's gear.

Car for sale

Mummy and daddy are selling our old car. I thought I would help them by carving rocket launchers into the side fenders so it will go faster.

I asked my dad if I could paint orange flames on the side of our new car. He said no. It's so unfair!

Going fishing

Today I went to the Sydney Aquarium with my mum. It was my reward for getting a needle at the doctor's. We saw some awesome things like starfish, eels, sharks, stingrays, seals, turtles, penguins, seahorses, crocodiles, and all the fish in Finding Nemo. I even got to touch a sea cucumber (squishy) and a shark egg (twisty and bendy). The picture shows me and mummy running away from a great big shark!

On yer bike!

It was my mummy's birthday, and I bought her a bike. I helped daddy put it together. Then I told everyone in my class on my News day.

Student of the week

This week, I won the Student of the Week award for 'positive classroom behaviour' and 'working well in science'. It really took me by surprise when my teacher called my name out. I had to go to the front of the assembly to collect and display my certificate.
