Merry Christmas

Santa very kindly brought me a Ben 10 omnitrix. I also got the Ben 10 Playstation game and DVD! I got to show my Grandma and Grandad, Uncle Kevin and Aunty Piera in England all my presents through a camera on the computer. And I performed two Christmas songs for them on the piano.

The Sydney Eye

Forget the London Eye. We went on the largest transportable ferris wheel in the southern hemisphere here in Darling Harbour.

There was also a big Xmas tree but it was too hot and humid for snow.

Stage fright

I've been doing drama classes this term and we finished the last week with a performance of a story, a character and an improvisation. My character was Lizard Boy!

I received a certificate at the end of the term for my good work. I was the youngest in the class.

All I want for Xmas is....

My front tooth didn't like being on its own when the other one fell out. So it decided to fall out too.

It was very quick. I was messing around and knocked my face on the floor. The next thing I knew, I spat my tooth out.

The tooth did not have any decay at all so the tooth fairy gave me more than for the other one. I got $8!

Now I have lost 4 teeth altogther: I got $5 each for the bottom two, then $6 for the first front tooth, then $8 for the second front tooth. That's $24 in total so far!

Halloween

Grandma and Grandad were responsible for my costume again this year. The pumpkin theme was replaced by a scary skeleton!

Me and my friends did pretty well on the trick-or-treating. I came home with a pumpkin full of treats. I only had to do a trick once when one house we visited didn't have any treats left!

Some of the houses had some really good decorations, like skeletons hanging from trees and gravestones in the front garden.

Another tooth bites the dust!

This is my 3rd tooth that has fallen out. The bottom two front ones fell out last year. I swallowed one, and the tooth fairy gave me $5 for the other. This time, it is one of my top front teeth. My dad took a picture before it fell out...

...while it was falling out and bleeding...

...then after it fell out.

The tooth fairy gave me $6 for it. That's because it was bigger than the previous one.

National Tree Day

My school got on the news because we celebrated National Tree Day. You can see the clip on YouTube, and you can see me on the left. At first, someone is holding a plant in front of my face. See if you can spot me!

Annual piano concert

I played the piece 'Jazz Man' with my piano classmates.

Below is the teacher's report on my progress this year. I got an 'E' for EXCELLENT in all categories. And I got an 'A' for EFFORT. That means I got top marks!

I've been Simpson-ized!

I found a really good web site that can turn you into a Simpsons character. You can choose the kind of face you want, your hair colour and clothes. This would be me if I were in a Simpsons cartoon wearing my St Mary's uniform. .

I made one of how I would want to look with long blue hair!

Crikey! Reptiles!

I went to a reptile park just north of Sydney (not Australia Zoo) with my Gong Gong and Por Por.

Everything was bigger than I expected.

I got to pat a kangaroo.

I took this picture myself. I think it's an iguana.

Library award

I got this certificate from our school librarian for doing listening well to the story she told us, then interpreting the story through a drawing, and quietly reading a book of my own.

My dad is now (half) Australian

My dad became an Australian a few weeks ago. We all went to Sydney Town Hall to watch him shake hands with the Lord Mayor of Sydney, who gave him a certificate to tell him he is allowed be Australian now. He is still English as he will keep a UK passport too, and he says is also one third Irish! We haven't done fractions yet at school so I'm not sure how that works out.

Me in my chaps

When we were in the Blue Mountains, we did a bush trail horseride. Before I got on my horse I had to put on my cowboy outfit: a riding helmet and chaps (the things that stop your trousers from being pinched under the saddle). My horse was called Salt (I think because there is another horse called Pepper). We trotted and crossed rivers.

July school holidays: Blue Mountains

Can you guess what I helped build at our holiday house in the Blue Mountains?

Do you think they might be totem poles?!

Guess again! It's a garden arbor.

July school holidays: Palm Beach and Pittwater

We went up to Palm Beach which is where they film Home & Away. It was windy so the waves were big.

Around the headland from Palm Beach is Pittwater which is a bit more calm, so we hired a kayak, weaved through the boats moored in the bays, and paddled over to Newport. Afterwards, we had a nice lunch overlooking the water.

July school holidays: Manly

Me, mum and dad took a few short breaks away from home...but managed to stay in Sydney. Our first trip was to Manly and Shelly Beach.

Manly is on the north side of Sydney, and is where the film BMX Bandits was filmed. The movie starred Nicole Kidman, who also got married in the Catholic cathedral in Manly.

We stayed in a hotel where we had a view of the beach on one side (so we could see surfing) and the harbour on the other (so we could see the ferries coming in), but the best bit was the sauna!

My mum's birthday

My mum's birthday was on a weekend, so I treated her to all the things that I wanted to do, like ten pin bowling. We also went to a couple of exhibitions: one was called the Amazing Human Body where I learnt all about muscles, bones, nerves, lungs and digestion; the other was about Leonardo Da Vinci and all the machines he invented. Then we went out fro my favourite meal: pizza. I made her a card too: Star Wars of course.

Star Wars: the never ending story

Just to show you how much I love Star Wars, here are a few bits from my collection: Star Wars Lego PlayStation games, Episodes I to VI of Star Wars DVDs, and my Last of the Jedi novel.
