Big ships

For the first time since World War II, the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth II cruise liners visited Sydney Harbour. I went to see how big they were. The Queen Mary was huge. The Queen Elizabeth was all lit up at night time.

The Australian Crawl

I can now swim underwater and do freestyle and backstroke. My swim teacher also taught me water safety, floating and how to jump in and swim to the side.

Grandma's birthday

The great thing about my birthday was that the next day was my Grandma's birthday and I got to take the day off school! We went on a cruise around Sydney Harbour.

After the cruise, we walked around Darling Harbour. Grandad took me to see the naval ship and submarine at the Maritime Museum. The submarine was very hot inside.

If you zoom in on the picture of the naval ship, you will see me and Grandad!

My birthday

I had an awesome birthday. I had a party after school with 12 of my mates at Lollipops Playland. Because it was on a weekday, we had the whole place to ourselves.

I had a fantastic birthday cake. I got to choose the flavour (chocolate fudge) and it was a football pitch with players on the top.

I did pretty well with presents too!

Loose tooth

I lost my first tooth the first day I went back to school. It was so loose, it fell out and I didn't even know! Here is a picture of my mouth before I lost the tooth: it was so wobbly I could twist it around.

Even though I lost the tooth and couldn't find it, the tooth fairy still gave me $5. My dad rang up to tell the tooth fairy where to find the tooth (at my school)and ask if it was OK if it wasn't actually under my pillow.

Central Coast

Another mini-holiday we took was to the Central Coast, about an hour north of Sydney. We went to places like The Entrance, where they feed the pelicans every day; Terrigal; and Forresters Beach where we stayed.

There were a lot of things to do at the Entrance. They had stuff like plaster painting, carousels and bouncy castles.

Hawkesbury River

We went away for a few days to another part of Sydney. We stayed on the Hawkesbury River and visited places which where the British first settled when then arrived here hundreds of years ago. One place was Ebenezer where there was Australia's oldest church: they still serve Devonshire tea there. Then we crossed the river on a car ferry. When we sat in the car, it felt like it was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

An Aussie Christmas

This was the first Christmas I had in Australia for two years! The last Christmas in England was cold and cosy. This one was warm and sunny. We didn't have any turkey. We had pannecotta, nibbles and cake throughout the day. Then we went over my Uncle Oli and Aunty Sam's place for a big seafood dinner.
