Harbour sail

At the place where my mum works, they have a yacht you can hire. It comes complete with a skipper to teach you how to sail and to sail the boat for you if you don't want to know anything about boats. I did get a turn at steering the boat, but it was good to enjoy the harbour views of the Bridge and the city from the water.

We sailed around different bays, and got to sit at the front of the boat dipping our feet in the water as we rode over waves. We saw lots of different types of boats, including 8-footers, ferries, speedboats, kayaks, luxury cruisers and parasailers.

Housesitting

Over the summer holidays, me and my mum got to mind my friend Oscar's house.I became a real beachboy, going to different beaches each day. People had campfires on the beach, and with the leftover charcoal, I wrote my name on the rocks.

At low tide, we could walk right out really far, almost to where the boats were.
There were also some good walks where you could see Sydney Harbour, parasailing and old beach huts.
My friend Oscar also has an awesome trampoline in his backyard.
It was like having a holiday without leaving my hometown. Isn't that called a 'stay-cation'?
