Vivid Sydney

We went to Vivid Sydney again this year, the annual festival of light.

This time, they let up a whole street of buildings with projections onto the walls. The projections made the Sydney Opera House look like the sails were moving, but it also made the buildings come alive with colour while telling us the history of the building and the era when it was built (during the early days of colonial settlement).

Crazy hat & sunglasses day

We had a fundraiser at school where we had to wear a silly hat and sunglasses for the day, and donate a gold coin for the privilege. I wore my mum's sombrero from Mexico, and a pair of sunglasses from Ireland! I got a prize for the craziness of my hat and sunglasses.

Happy birthday, Buddha

Buddha's birthday is to Buddhists what Christmas Day is to Christians. So every year, there is a big festival in Darling Harbour with vegetarian food stalls, gardens of peace and group meditation.

This year, I went with my mum on Mother's Day, and helped her carry bags like a gentleman and a good Buddhist.

My 2nd tennis trophy

For the 2nd term in a row, I have won the tennis comp I play on Friday afternoons. This term, I had a different doubles partner. So it's fitting that I got a different kind of trophy this time round too.
